I have about 6k miles on the Southbend FX 6 puck clutch. 3k miles ago, I pulled the tranny, I was amazed that the clutch looked brand new. Now the clutch is slipping. The car makes about 450-500hp on the street and I have never raced it. How could it slip with only this little miles on? I followed the Greg's FAQ on the pedal adjustment. The pedal has the max adjustment with the screws the way back out. The engagement is right at the top. This means there is already pressure on the pressure plate fingers even when the pedal is not pressed down? Also, when I installed the clutch, I bought a slave cylinder from NAPA. It's a little bit longer than the OEM, maybe a quarter of an inch. When I installed it, it took a bit of pressing the clutch fork back. I think this may also contribute putting pressure on the fingers. Any thoughts?
